Injectable Human Tissue Matrix (HTM) implants are procured from donor tissue and prepared using a patented process
including three viral inactivation steps, decellularizing the dermal tissue. It is used for the correction of wrinkles, scars and other facial contour defects.
HTM implants are used for treating facial contour defects. The most common treatments involve:
- Naso-labial folds ("smile lines")
- Peri-oral lines (above the lip)
- The vermilion ridge (top of the lip)
- Glabellar frown lines (between the eyebrows)
- Oral commissures ("marionette lines")
- Depressed scars (e.g. acne)
Typically two to three treatments are required over a three-month period to correct most dermal depressions as the
improvements with HTM implants are progressive. Although the patient will receive benefits with one treatment, additional treatments are necessary to produce a full, longer
lasting effect.
